Adoption pen

The lambs made it through the night with forced feeds every 2 hours or so and seemed reasonably alert this morning. So I got on with making an adoption pen. A few hours later all was ready and I managed to lock Tara in "the stocks". The two lambs, although they had been relunctant to suck from the bottle, were straight in to Tara's teats now she couldn't kick or head butt them away. They've been filling up all morning - hopefully the mother's colostrum for the first 4 days should be enough to see them right.

Les agneaux sortis de la nuit avec forcés nourrit toutes les 2 heures ou plus et semblait raisonnable d'alerte ce matin. Alors, j'ai fait le carcon. Quelques heures plus tard, tout était prêt et j'ai réussi à verrouiller Tara dedans. Les deux agneaux, bien qu'ils aient été récalcitrant à sucer du biberon, ont aller a Tara tétines maintenant elle ne pouvait pas coup de pied ou la tête. Ils ont été remplissant toute la matinée - j'espére que le colostrum de la mère pour les 4 premiers jours devraient assez.
If Tara doesn't get the mothering instinct then I'll try to find a goat to adopt them - unlike sheep, goats are willing to accept any animal that suckles as it's own. Tara on the other hand absolutely hates the restraint and is pretty stressed, especially when the other sheep go off into the field. Hopefully she'll get used to it (as Leia did when she was isolated with blue tongue).

Si Tara ne reçoit pas l'instinct maternel alors je vais essayer de trouver une bouc chevre à les adopter - à la différence des moutons, les chèvres sont prêts à accepter tout animal qui téter car elle-même. Tara, d'autre part déteste absolument le dispositif de retenue et est assez stressé, surtout quand les autres brebis s'en vont dans le champ. J'espère qu'elle va s'y habituer (comme Leia fait quand elle a été isolée avec la langue bleue).
