I bought my home in the Couserans Pyrénées in 2004 and left the UK to live here full time. After 5 years of solo adventure I met Susie and her children Jasper and Ruby. We married in 2012 and spend our time walking in the mountains, looking after our chickens and sheep, transforming their wool and other fibres into woven, knitted and felted creations and growing/foraging for our food.

Bilberries and blueberries are not actually the same. They are both from the same 'genus', which is the vaccinium family, but the wild 'lowbush' bilberry is vaccinium myrtillus whereas the cultivated highbush blueberry is usually vaccinium cyanococcus. Wiki has quite a comprehensive section about the various 'vacciniums' if you look up 'blueberry', but my mum's book http://www.amazon.co.uk/Blueberries-Cranberries-Vacciniums-Jennifer-Trehane/dp/1604690720/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1246295285&sr=8-1 is also an excellent guide ;-)
Ah so I was right all along!
Well done on your cols ride today - those three in one day is a tough outing...it has inspired me to get my bike out of the shed ready for ride sometime soon.
