After 4 days graft the longer side of the gite roof is slated, but I don't have enough to do the second side so I'll have to buy some more slates!
Some rain yesterday evening but the today was balmy and warm.
I bought my home in the Couserans Pyrénées in 2004 and left the UK to live here full time. After 5 years of solo adventure I met Susie and her children Jasper and Ruby. We married in 2012 and spend our time walking in the mountains, looking after our chickens and sheep, transforming their wool and other fibres into woven, knitted and felted creations and growing/foraging for our food.

I know slate is durable but I love the look, the changeable grays...the second photo shows good progress on the other side. Perhaps an indication to relax a bit? Just a little bit? Such a wonderful view, too. With all the stress and conflict in the world seeing what the two of you are doing and building and enjoying makes the world seem a better, more hopeful place. Thank you.
