I bought my home in the Couserans Pyrénées in 2004 and left the UK to live here full time. After 5 years of solo adventure I met Susie and her children Jasper and Ruby. We married in 2012 and spend our time walking in the mountains, looking after our chickens and sheep, transforming their wool and other fibres into woven, knitted and felted creations and growing/foraging for our food.

Nice work. The smaller piece of wood on the bottom of the doorway, the threshold, is that covered with another piece later to protect it from wear? Thanks for the pics. Chip
No, it's just a wedged prop to keep the frame square whilst I was building up the walls. Floor level is about 4 inches below the bottom of the posts. The two stone blocks carrying the frame are exposed. There's actually a steel pin in the bottom of each jamb which locates in a hole drilled in the top of each block. I was worried they'd move as the mortar is fairly fresh....they'll be solid once the concrete floor is poured.
