head pistons and cylinders removed
One of the connecting rod shells (cousinettes) had overheated and melted over the crankshaft. Hopefully I can get this machined off to save having to buy a new crankshaft at 1350 euros!
The rest of the engine
I bought my home in the Couserans Pyrénées in 2004 and left the UK to live here full time. After 5 years of solo adventure I met Susie and her children Jasper and Ruby. We married in 2012 and spend our time walking in the mountains, looking after our chickens and sheep, transforming their wool and other fibres into woven, knitted and felted creations and growing/foraging for our food.

Good job !
I guess, the rod shells are easily available as spare parts and the best way, is to replace them on both cylinders, because the second one could be also either overheated or worn.

Marcel
Thanks.
