Rain

The bee sting on my foot was agony last night and I had to try to painfully massage the poison away from the swelling at about 2.00am as I couldn't walk.

In the morning out at 7.30 to start re-spreading the hay. Took about 2 1/2 hours by which time it was time to start all over again turning it. Blisteringly hot 37 in the shade and off the scale of my thermometer which goes up to 48 degrees in the sun, so probably 50+. At noon I went for a cold shower and saw that Meteo France had revised their forecast to "rare showers" in the afternoon. In 50 degrees of heat "rare showers" don't exist...what it meant was huge thunderstorms! No break, I carried on trying to prepare the lower part which had been cut, about 3/5 of the total, for baling. It was easily dry enough in the tropical heat. But I needed several cold showers and about 7 litres of drinking water to continue in the heat without sunstrtoke. It took all afternoon to rake it into 3 windrows for baling and the last row was baled in the beginnings of the storm at 7.00. 123 bales just off this lower part.

The storm has been intense with about 3-4 inches of rain, hale the size of marbles and masses of thunder and lightning. Been going for 2 1/2 hours so far. The rest of the hay may be ruined as the forecast is now poor for several days. The bales are stacked in 6's and 9's so hopefully they'll be OK.

La piqûre d'abeille sur mon pied était un supplice la nuit dernière et j'ai dû essayer de massage péniblement le poison loin de l'enflure à environ 2h00 que je ne pouvais pas marcher.

Dans la matinée, à 7h30 à commencer à re-diffuser le foin. A pris environ 2h30 en ce moment, il était temps de recommencer le tournant. 37 dégrés à l'ombre et hors l'échelle de mon thermomètre qui monte à 48 degrés au soleil, alors, probablement, 50 +. A midi je suis allé pour une douche froide et j'ai vu que Météo France a révisé ses prévisions à la "averses rare" dans l'après-midi. Dans 50 degrés de chaleur "averses rare" n'existent pas ... ce qu'il voulait dire orages énormes! Sans arrête, j'ai essayé de préparer la partie inférieure qui avait été coupée, environ 3 / 5 du total, pour mise en balles. Il a été facilement assez sec dans la chaleur tropicale. Mais j'avais besoin de plusieurs douches froides et environ 7 litres d'eau potable de continuer dans la chaleur sans sunstroke. Il a fallu tout l'après-midi à ratisser en 3 andains pour mise en balles et la dernière ligne a été emballé dans les débuts de la tempête à 7,00. 123 balles juste à côté de cette partie inférieure.

La tempête a été intense avec environ 7-10cm de pluie in 2h30, de la graille la taille de billes et des masses de tonnerre et d'éclairs. Le reste du foin peut être ruiné par la prévision est maintenant pauvre pendant plusieurs jours. Les balles sont empilées en 6 et 9 de la sorte, espérons qu'ils seront OK.
