Yesterday morning I set to work clearing the road between here and Biech. The Marie had done just enough to get cars through immediately after the storm so that the EDF could repair the electricity pole in front of Quélébu, but no more. There were still trees and branches weighing down the telephone lines, branches everywhere which scratched your car and hung-up trees waiting to fall across the road. I started at 8.00 and was soon joined by John. By 10.30 we had had enough but cleared to within 100m of Biech. Just as well as today a team of contractors have started from the village to replace the snapped telegraph poles.

Hier matin, j'ai commencé à dégager la route entre ici et Biech. La Marie a fait seulement assez pour obtenir des voitures par immédiatement après la tempête alors que la EDF pourrait réparer le poteau électrique en face de Quélébu, mais pas plus. Il y avait encore des arbres et des branches alourdir les lignes téléphoniques, des branches partout, qui se gratta votre voiture et arbres accrochées attendre tomber sur la route. J'ai commencé à 8:00 et est bientôt rejoint par John. En 10,30 nous en avions assez, mais degagé à moins de 100m de Biech. Bien parce que aujourd'hui une équipe d'entrepreneurs ont commencé à partir du village pour remplacer les poteaux télégraphiques cassé.

With the weather warming at last I started sheep shearing. Tara and Mini are done. This year I managed to get both their fleeces off in one piece with the hand shears. I might try the electric shears on some of the easier sheep to shear.

Avec le réchauffement de la météo enfin j'ai commencé à tondre les moutons. Tara et la Mini sont fait. Cette année, j'ai réussi à enlever leur toisons dans une seule pièce avec la ciseaux. Je vais essayer la cisaille électrique sur quelques-uns des plus facile à tondre.

Miracle of miracles a telephone contractor turned up today and finally after 15 days I have my phone and internet reconnected.
