Still hot and the Remington 7500 stock

Another hot, humid and still day (32 in the shade again). With the chainsaw back in action I made an early start clearing field no 1. All the Acacias and the remains of the two walnuts were tided away by 11.30 by which time it was too hot to continue. Only the large walnut and the 3 trees in Larcher's field to go then it's all done.

In the cool of the workshop I pressed on with the stock I'm building for Harry's Remington 7500. The walnut I've been drying for the past 3 years has come up well with the first sealing coat of oil.

A bit of scything in the (only slightly) cooler evening then a quick check on a nest I found in one of the unlit bonfires on Thursday. Then it had 3 eggs and 2 hatched thrush chicks. Today all five are doing well.

Tomorrow thunderstorms are forecast which should cool things a little.

Un autre chaude et humide journée (32 à l'ombre encore). Avec la tronconneuse marchant encore j'ai commencé tot sur la pré n ° 1. Tous les Acacias et les deux noyers étaient dégager à 11h30, lorsque il faisait trop chaud pour continuer. Seule la grosse noyer et les 3 arbres dans le pré de Larcher à faire, puis tout fait.

Dans la fraîcheur de l'atelier, j'ai avancé la crosse que je construis pour le Remington 7500 de Harry. Le noyer, j'ai été de séchage pour les 3 dernières années, est venu bien avec la première couche d'huile.

Un peu de fauchage dans la soirée moins chaude puis une vérification rapide sur un nid que j'ai trouvé dans l'un des feux jeudi (heuresement avant je l'ai allumé). Puis elle avait 3 oeufs et 2 poussins de grive. Aujourd'hui, les cinq se portent bien. Demain orages sont prévus qui refroidissent le temps.
